OUR PROGRAMS
Below follows the presentation of our actions regarding the training of adults (e.g. professional drivers) in matters of Road Safety, Safe & Ecological Driving, correct behavior towards the passenger public and provision of First Aid.
The above-mentioned skills of the staff of any urban road transporter will give this body a great added value and will have serious financial benefits in the medium term, which will more than cover any costs of conducting the proposed seminars. The well-trained traffic staff in matters of road safety and First Aid ensures the trust of the passenger public and strengthens the profile of the transport operator.
Α. Road Safety
The driver training programme may include:
- Protocols of conduct towards passengers, level of service and emergency response
- Eco Driving app for greater fuel economy and safer driving
- Basics of Vehicle Engineering
- Theoretical training in emergency response:
- Outbreak of fire
- Conflict
- Overthrow
- Entrapment due to mechanical or electrical/electronic damage inside the bus
- Bus entrapment due to downpour and simultaneous rise in water levels
- Assault by a passenger inside the bus
- Terrorist act inside the bus
The number of hours of attendance of each driver can be configured in cooperation with the Transport Operator, taking into account the needs and particularities that will arise.
B. First Aid
First Aid training may include the implementation of three (3) certified training programs. It can be configured to address both adults and minors.
More specifically:
1) BLS/AED COURSE
It includes the theoretical part as well as the practical part, which is divided into four (4) sections:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Safe use of automatic external defibrillator
- Resuscitation position (lateral safety position)
- Treatment of drowning
The practical part is implemented in small groups of 4-6 trainees / groups to allow everyone to practice the above skills.
The program is certified by the EUROPEAN RESUSCITATION COUNCIL and is essentially the first level of certified knowledge that the trainee can receive.
2) ALL INCLUSIVE FIRST AID COURSE
It includes the theoretical part in which pathological conditions that we may face in our daily lives (burns, hemorrhages, fainting, epilepsy, stroke, diabetes mellitus, etc.) are analyzed as well as the ways to deal with them immediately and practically until the incident is delivered to a health formation.
In the practical part, the skills required per incident will be demonstrated separately.
3) TRAUMA COURSE
It includes the basic algorithm for dealing with trauma. Injuries can sometimes be frivolous, but other times they can be serious and potentially life-threatening. For this very reason, a protocol of actions has been developed worldwide that we are called to apply to each trauma incident, with as much accuracy as possible and this is called the ABCDE TRAUMA ALGORITHM.
The initial goal of the training is for all employees to understand the injury mechanism (that is, the way an injury is caused, what a little more hygienically we call “KINEMATICS”) and after understanding the injury mechanism, they will then be taught the actions they must apply to treat the injured person. Our aim is to demonstrate and make clear HOW AN INJURY IS CAUSED and then to teach the actions to be applied to the injured person, after they have fully understood their importance for the outcome of the injured person’s health.
They will therefore learn LIFE-SAVING PRACTICAL SKILLS and NOT STERILE USE OF TOOLS.
They will learn to cope WITH HANDS, MIND AND WITH THEIR BASIC KNOWLEDGE.
The duration per program is:
- BLS/AED 6 hours
- FULL 8 hours
- TRAUMA 8 hours
All programs will have appropriate breaks and can be completed in one, two or even three different days. The exception is the BLS/AED program, which must be completed on the same day. Finally, it should be noted that there is also the possibility of distance education, with the help of technology and the internet, both on Road Safety and First Aid issues.
Clearly, it is a program specially tailored to the needs of each Agency.
1. Student Education Program
Below follows our proposal for the education of students of all levels (Pre-Kindergarten – Toddler – Primary – Middle School – Lyceum) on Road Safety issues and High School students on First Aid issues. It goes without saying that we also provide – if there is interest – training programs for Parents, Teachers and School Bus Drivers.
I. ROAD SAFETY
A. The training program for students of Kindergarten – Primary – Gymnasium – Lyceum may include:
- Familiarization with the terms of daily use of the road (concerns Toddlers and the first three grades of Primary School), experiential games, acquaintance with the Traffic Policeman, traffic signals, traffic lights.
- Theoretical training on urban mobility issues (importance of the use of public transport, ecological awareness, environmental friendliness of public transport, safe road use rules, etc.). View related videos and Power Point presentation in class
- Experiential Education on issues of safe use of public transport (in a city bus that will be located in the courtyard of the School Unit)
- Experiential Training for disembarking from a “burning” bus
- Experiential Training in the safe use of bicycles. Theoretical & Practical Training (in a “Traffic Education Park” organized and “set up” on the spot by ENODIA’s executives in school yards or in the Gymnasiums of the Schools) for obtaining a “Cyclist’s Diploma”.
B. The parent education program may include:
- Proper use of restraint devices (seat belts, child seats, etc.)
- Eco-Driving
- Driving and alcohol.
